Current Events At the Corral:
June 2010
I took Tipper with me on a real western adventure. Five of us, ( Susie, Camille, Shelly , Janna and I ) went to the Black Hills of SD and rode over 120 miles in a week. We stayed on a private ranch in a log home. We saw Elk, mule deer, a cougar, wild turkeys, a bobcat, free ranging cattle and spectacular views of the hills. One day we rode all the way around Deerfield Lake which is 21 miles long! We were invited to ride on private property our other days and wow what an honor, people on horseback have not ridden on that land since the days of Custer, and we did just that. The horses did great, Tipper lead most of the time and she had a blast out there ,her head was up and swinging from side to side, there is no "tire" in that mare! Planning to do it next year.
Mike and Brett built Stall #6 for Bella, she is a keeper. It is next to Miley and she likes having a neighbor beside her a lot.
Bella is growing up to be a pretty darn nice filly. She is clipper trained, and has had a bath 2x now without too much fuss. Just a sweet little mare. Still no luck with finding out who her sire is, but I found the dam and her owner is a really cool gal, thanks Krystal for helping me out. Papers are ready for sending in to PHA as: Twilights New Moon. I hope we get the name, she needs a stall sign. She still needs hernia surgery and Dr. Mosher will be out soon to do that for her.
Planning to take Barbie with me to the Effie Rodeo, I will be selling my jewerly line in a booth up there and riding in the parade, so watch for us blonds out there and stop by the booth, I have been working hard on the bling bling*

Saddled up Miley for the very first time. As I suspected, not a problem, hardly a buck and easy moving on the lunge line. Will be waiting for fall to get on her back though. She sticks at 15.0 at the wither and 15.1+ at the hip right now. Our farrier thinks she will have some size to her too.
Monster Tack Sale Update: HUGE SUCCESS, we made 3x the $ as last year and had 2x the amount of people with items. The 4-H PDC made around $80.00 and the weather was beautiful. Many people enjoyed the sale and we saw some new faces and many second timers. Not one gripe and people seem to look forward to it. Big Thank You to Steve and Carol Reinhardt for their ad in the auction flyer, to Bobbi and Rocky for just being there and helping make this thing a go, and to Mike who just shakes his head at every "big idea" I had. Next year we are going to have it 2 days and I may charge a very small table fee per ( person or family) now that we are established and this is an annual event. Not a lot, just to cover some of the advertising I do and time off work.
New Filly! Come meet Bella!
April 2010
April 10-11 I just got back from a Jane Melby Barrel Racing Clinic at West Oaks Ranch in Watkins, MN. I took Tipper and learned soooo much. I have been going to Jane's weekly for private lessons for weeks now, and with the combination of the clinic, we are on the right tract.
Tipper had a minor operation, a caslicks procedure to stop her from wind sucking while racing, it went well and she is on the mend.
I would like to mention that I have found a wonderful new farrier: Karl Johnson is now taking care of my "kids" and he does an amazing job, Thank You for taking me on Karl!
I would also like to Thank Dr Gibb Mosher from Turtle River Equine, my new Vet, he is so nice and really knows his stuff, he will be getting my business from here to eternity. Thanks for taking the time with Shelby and Tipper.
Miley has been saddled already, no buck just a hump here and there, she is learning voice commands and is really smart. Won't be till fall to ride her as her knees are still open, but she will have a superb start.
Seiko is doing great for those wondering, he is trim and happy.
Mike can ride Barbie! Yippee, we went for a ride first weekend in April and she even gaited for him and he was excited and thought, "she was pretty cool."
Must not forget Shelby, she is going to be 18 this summer and I think I am going to put what I have learned from Jane to test with the ole gal, planning to take her to Backus for a lesson in May.
First show is April 17th, will be going with Tipper, we will post the results good and bad after the show, if we live.
MN Horse Expo is the last weekend of the month, Mike and I are going together, he is in for a long----weekend. Poor Guy.
March 2010
Molly has been sold! Congrats to Becky from Superior, WI.
February 2010
Molly is for sale. I have decided to sell my reg AQHA dun mare, ( MoSherry Star King ) She will be 5 this spring. Molly has had about 70 rides on her last fall, she has been to Huntersville for the annual Fall Trail Ride, where my beginner husband rode her up and over and through everything, she has also been to the Joyce Estates swimming, Soumi Hills and Cowhorn Trails, she loads, easy to tack up, lounges, & long lines. She cross-ties, bathes, clips, stands like a rock for our farrier, easy to de-worm, vaccinate and stall. Nice jog trot on her and very smooth canter, great hooves no need for shoes on her. She is 14.2hh, but built. Old foundation bloodlines: King, Poco Bueno and Scottish ( Nick W ). Pretty, primitave markings with that popular Dun color. She will throw color for those interested in breeding her at some point too. Cute, Cute mare. Not for a beginner just yet, as she is still young, but could be soon. Molly is playful in the pasture and when asked has some spunk to her. Price will go up as I ride her more in the spring. I could see her standing in a halter class in the morning and doing games in the afternoon, and then go on a trail ride. Very versitile and colorful to boot. Nice mare for the money. Feb Price is $1,500.00 firm

Hay, I made the paper this week. (Jan 24th) I earned 500 hours in the AQHA Horseback Riding Program, it is in the Herald Review from this past Sunday. I will recieve gifts from the AQHA and a patch with the 500 hours logo on it. AND, I will be in the same paper again because I was invited to the monthly 4-H meeting last week, and made my Homemade Horse Cookies for the 4-H members, it was so much fun ,that picture and article will be in it soon as well.

We are sorry to announce that our beloved gelding Seiko, suffered a horrific injury. His right eye was punctured in a pasture accident. We rushed him to Elbow Lake, MN, and under the constant care of Dr. Greiner, he made it through a severe infection, loosing the eyeball and 7 days in the hospital. He now "sports" a silicone implant and we are very happy to report he is remarkably no worse for wear; we are even riding him again. Stop by to tell him how handsome he is, he just loves the new found attention.
